0.6/1kV Cu/XLPE/PVC/AWA/PVC-ST2 cable to IEC 60502-1
Cu/XLPE/PVC/AWA/PVC cable to BS 5467
The power and auxiliary cables outlined in this section find use in power networks, underground, outdoor and indoor applications and for use in cable ducting. These cables can be used indoors or outdoors, but some reservations are necessary concerning cables for direct burial in the ground or for use in wet conditions.
It is essential that the type of cable ordered is suitable for its intended use.
Conductor:
Copper Circular stranded (Non-compacted or Compacted) Class 2 to IEC 60228 or BS EN 60228 (previously BS 6360)
Insulation:
XLPE – material and thickness as per IEC 60502 or BS 5467 and rated for 900C continuous operation
Core Identification:
Single Core : Black
Bedding
PVC Extruded bedding serves as a bedding for the armour and as protection for the laid-up cores.
Armour
Aluminium Wire Armour as per IEC60502-1 or BS 5467.
Outer Sheath
Outer sheath shall be extruded PVC type ST2 as per IEC 60502-1, Black.
Special consideration must be taken into account when the cable is intended for use in hostile environments and as such special type of PVC sheathing material such as Fire retardant PVC, anti-termite and anti-rodent PVC, Ultraviolet PVC, Oil resistant PVC etc are available on request. Special sheathing materials such as LLDPE, MDPE, HDPE, CPE etc can also be made available on special request.
All sheaths are designed with easy strip characteristics to reduce the time and cost of cable preparation during installation.
In addition, finished cable are marked on the outer sheath to aid cable identification at site.
IEC 60502-1 or BS 5467
