Building wires are generally used to carry electrical current in almost every industrial, residential and commercial building. These cables are considered suitable for fixed protected installations in light fittings, switchgear and control gear and for internal wiring of equipment rated voltage up to 1000V AC or up to 750V DC to earth.
Conductor:
Round stranded copper Class 2
Insulation:
The insulation of standard wiring cables is PVC grade Type TI 1 of BS 7655 (formerly BS 6746) suitable for a maximum continuous conductor operating temperature of 70°C.
Where specifically required, wiring cables can be offered with heat resistant PVC insulation rated 85°C, 90°C and 105°C (for reduced duration).
Core Identification:
Insulation colours are in accordance with BS6004 specifications as follows:
Single Core: Red, Black, Yellow, Blue, Green/Yellow
IEC 60227-3 or BS EN 50525-2-31 (BS 6004)
IEC 60332-1
BASEC Approved
Voltage Rating: 450/750 Volts (450V to earth, 750V between conductors)
Max. permissible continuous conductor temperature: +70°C
Minimum Bending Radius: As per cable manufacturer datasheet
Note: Please follow manufacturer datasheets and guidelines for cable usage and installation.
